Although its official name is "Matchroom Stadium" the ground is most commonly known as "Brisbane Road". It's located in the heart of Leyton close to the High Street and right next to the Coronation Gardens.
The stadium's signature features are the four residential buildings at each corner of the ground. So if you're an Orient fan, you might consider getting yourself an apartment with a balcony facing the pitch. Everything a true fan can dream of.
Besides the residetial buildings, the ground features identical stands behind the goals, which are bot seated, roofed and faily new. Also fairly new is the New West Stand which facilitates the club offices, club shop and supporters club. The other stand on the sideline, the old Main Stand has seen some years. Parts of it are still wodden and the roof is supported by pillars.
You definately won't see first class football at Brisbane Road, but the ground's worth a visit for sure. The stadium has charm and Orient is always entertaining to watch, so it's a good option to spent your Saturday afternoon in London. |
