Whenever Crystal Palace FC has one of its short stints in the Premier League, it also brings the old Selhurst Park back to the top flight of English football. The ground, that has seen Eric Cantona's Kung-Fu kick as most spectacular event over the last years.
The ground has seen better days, the two stands along the sidelines are old, with lots of wood, uncomfortable seats and pillars that restrict the view. Additonally, ground sharing with Wimbledon FC for quite some years has taken its toll on the facilities and the general condition of the stadium. Yes the stand behind the goals are fairly new and especially the two-tierd Homesdale Road Stand is impressive and dominates the stadium.
In 2006, Palace chariman Simon Jordan purchased the premises for 18 Mio. Euros, so it looks like Palace is going to stay at Selhurst Park for a while.
